Learning Structure

The Rooted Learning Journey

Children grow through thoughtfully designed learning stages that nurture curiosity, confidence, and leadership over time. To best support our families, we are pleased to offer flexible full-time and part-time enrollment options (2, 3, or 4 days a week).

🌱 Seedlings (2020 - 2022 DOB)
Early Learners

Now accepting new enrollments for 2026/2027. Available Tuesday–Friday (flexible 2, 3, and 4-day schedules).

Academic Benchmark: Structured Early Learning Formal introduction to early literacy (backed by the Science of Reading) and conceptual mathematics, intentionally bridging the gap between purposeful play and structured scholastic learning.

Designed for our youngest learners, the Seedlings Program lays the vital groundwork for future scholastic and personal success. We focus on:

  • Early Academics: Building the initial academic foundation through phonics and conceptual math exploration (counting, patterning, subitizing).
  • Hands-On Discovery: Engaging in play-based learning and practical skill development to foster curiosity and master fine motor control.
  • Social-Emotional Growth: Learning to self-regulate, express emotions healthily, and navigate early friendships with confidence.
  • Faith & Character: Introducing core values of kindness, gratitude, and appropriate risk-taking in a highly nurturing environment.
🌿 Little Roots
Primary-Aged Learners
Academic Benchmark: Applied Core Academics Transitioning from foundational skills to applied academics, students are challenged with reading comprehension, computational math, and the scientific method through cross-curricular study.

Building upon the foundations laid in Seedlings, Little Roots challenges students to apply their knowledge while growing socially and spiritually:

  • Academic Application: Advancing foundational skills into active application, focusing on reading fluency, reading comprehension, and computational math.
  • Purposeful Inquiry: Transitioning from play-based discovery to guided scientific inquiry, hypothesis testing, and collaborative cross-curricular projects.
  • Community Awareness: Growing from self-regulation to community responsibility, thriving in a mixed-age setting where they begin to mentor younger learners.
  • Faith & Integrity: Deepening early character traits into a strong sense of personal integrity, boundless curiosity, and deep compassion.
🌳 Growing Roots
Advanced Learners & Leaders
Academic Benchmark: Scholastic Rigor & Preparedness A rigorous focus on advanced critical thinking, comprehensive data analysis, and articulate communication to ensure students are highly prepared for their next educational milestones.

As the culmination of the Rooted Learning Journey, Growing Roots prepares students to think deeply, lead boldly, and take on high-level academic challenges:

  • Academic Mastery: Elevating applied academics into advanced critical thinking, comprehensive data analysis, and the confident articulation of complex ideas.
  • Independent Problem-Solving: Progressing from guided inquiry to designing, managing, and executing robust, student-led original research.
  • Meaningful Leadership: Stepping fully into role-model positions, utilizing persuasive public speaking and essay writing to positively influence their community.
  • Faith in Action: Preparing for the next stage of their educational journey by actively leading others with humility, courage, and purpose.

Weekly Rhythms

Music Together® In School

Learning, connection, and joy through music.

At Rooted Together Academy, music is woven into the rhythm of our learning through the Music Together In School program, thoughtfully planned and led by Sarah DeHart. Each Wednesday, our students experience 30 weeks of engaging, research-based musical learning designed to strengthen brain and body connections.

A Journey for the Whole Family

Families are an important part of this journey. Throughout the year, there will be two special family music gatherings, along with take-home music resources and updates directly from Sarah.

Nurturing the Whole Child

Through singing, movement, rhythm, and instruments that remain in our classroom year-round, children are invited into a rich communal learning experience that actively supports:

  • Speech and language development
  • Early reading and writing skills
  • Emotional regulation and confidence
  • Social development and communication
  • Physical activity and body-brain connections
