The Rooted Learning Journey
Children grow through thoughtfully designed learning stages that nurture curiosity, confidence, and leadership over time.
Our Seedlings Program is designed for our youngest learners and is rooted in play, wonder, and relationship. Children spend the majority of their day engaged in play-based learning, inquiry, outdoor adventures, and hands-on skill building such as gardening, fine motors (e.g., zippers, cutting and laces), and learning how to care for themselves and others. A strong focus is placed on social-emotional learning, helping children regulate their bodies, express their feelings, and navigate relationships with confidence. Faith is gently woven throughout the day, guiding children to act with kindness, gratitude, and courage. Seedlings are encouraged to be insightful and appropriate risk-takers as they explore the world around them. Academically, students are introduced to phonics, backed by the Science of Reading, learning letter recognition and sounds, while math is explored through real-life experiences such as counting, patterning, subitizing, and problem-solving in meaningful contexts.
The Little Roots Program supports primary-aged learners as they continue to grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Children are encouraged to use their gifts and talents to communicate thoughtfully, collaborate with others, and deepen their sense of responsibility within the community. Building on the strong social-emotional foundations established in earlier years, students engage in daily inquiry, hands-on skill building, and purposeful learning experiences. Mixed-age interactions allow Little Roots learners to both learn from and mentor others, strengthening confidence and empathy. Faith remains a guiding presence, encouraging curiosity, compassion, and integrity as children grow in independence and understanding.
The Growing Roots Program is designed for learners who are ready to think deeply, lead boldly, and make meaningful contributions. Students develop mastery over their thinking as they question, reflect, problem-solve, and approach learning with creativity and confidence. These learners are not afraid to explore new ideas, design projects, and involve their community in meaningful ways. Growing Roots students are nurtured as leaders and difference-makers, serving as role models for younger Rooted Learners while strengthening their own sense of purpose. Faith continues to ground their learning, guiding them to lead with humility, courage, and compassion as they prepare for the next stage of their journey.
